What We Bring To The Table

We enjoy a sense of kinship and camaraderie when we, as dancers, are part of a thriving dance community. Each dancer has a place and a role, and the dancers feel they can share their efforts and accomplishments with other dancers. There are high levels of trust in which people know that other dancers will have their backs and give them the benefit of the doubt and the space to apply their creativity and skill levels to their dance journey. People feel valued within a strong dance community, and dance is more enjoyable when shared.

The most significant West Coast Swing Dance in Las Vegas is the “FAMOUS FRIDAY” dance that happens EVERY FRIDAY, with the largest WCS dance floor in Las Vegas and a great location just off 215 on Rainbow. The next largest dance is called “ALL-IN SWING” and happens ONCE A MONTH. The rest of the locations are under the category of “THE UNDERGROUND,” which includes smaller venues with music and a dance floor where you can enjoy dancing. We have provided you a quick link below to each of these dances. Please feel free to visit any one of these dances. What is West Coast Swing?

The West Coast Swing dance has become very popular in recent years due to its versatile nature. It is different from other forms of swing dance, as you can dance West Coast Swing to various music styles, such as Rhythm and Blues, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Contemporary. This type of dance is great for social dancing and is adaptable to all skill levels.

Beginners can easily pick up basic moves, while advanced dancers could challenge themselves with a more complex string of patterns or steps. However, since it is an improvisational dance, it allows partners to be creative and free, adding their unique style and personality to their routines. The characterized West Coast swing dance is an elastic look resulting from its extension-compression technique of partner connection. It is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor. The foundational patterns include six standard patterns, Push, Pass (2), Whip, Tuck, and Starter.

How can I learn the West Coast Swing dance?

You can learn West Coast Swing dance at local dance studios that offer West Coast Swing lessons. Lessons are available at all levels, from beginners to advanced. Choosing the suitable class for your skill level is essential to ensure you get the most out of the classes.
